A Fishing Story

by NT of Northwestern Middle School, Poplar, Wisconsin

Wow, how did that happen?! I can't believe my eyes. They're just jumping into the boat! We're just catching all of these fish right after another. This is one strange thing that the weather had to do with and I am going to tell you.

It happened, I think, about two years ago. My family was on a vacation in Door County and my dad, brother, grandpa and I always go fishing in the morning. We had the best week of fishing we have had in a long time.

It was our last day of fishing and I was kind of sad. Even though I had caught the biggest fish of my life I did not want to go home. I had so much fun.

Anyway, we got up early and when we had to get the boat ready it was windy. We were about to give up when the radio said it would die down soon, as it did, but not all the way.

When we got out on the water the wind was the same. It was slow fishing and at 8:30 A.M. we only had one fish caught and it was a shaker. At 9:00 we came to our hot spot for the week and finally the wind stopped. Then poles started to pop and we caught seven fish in forty-five minutes, which was as fast as we could get the bait down, which is kinda strange, if you ask me.

Well, that is what happened; now you know my story.
