Rain, Rain Go Away

by SM of Nicolet High School, Glendale, Wisconsin

It was Sunday morning, February 17, 2001. I had a hair appointment at 11:30 A.M. After I was done getting dressed, I went up to the shop. It was a beautiful day and it didn't take a long, long time to do my hair. Just when she was finishing up my hair, it started to pour down, raining and hailing. Because it was raining, I called someone to see if I could catch a ride. The clock was ticking and my ride still hadn't come yet. The shop closed at 1:00 P.M. and at that time it was 12:55 P.M. I was still waiting; hoping my ride would show up. The shop was closed now, and my beautician gave me a newspaper to put over my head for outside. Quickly, I ran to the bus stop, to stand under the shelter. My ride never did come, and it didn't stop raining and hailing until 3:00 P.M. Since everything had stopped, I walked home. That beautiful day turned out to be the worst day of my life.
